After completely coming apart at the seams in December and January, the Philadelphia Eagles have plenty of work to do this offseason.
They’re just a year removed from blowing a 10-point lead against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, yet they have the image of a team in disarray after losing five of their last six regular-season games and getting blown out in the Wild Card round of the playoffs by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
On Thursday, they managed to give tight end Albert Okwuegbunam a new one-year contract, preventing him from going into free agency, per Field Yates.
The Eagles have signed TE Albert Okwuegbunam to a new one-year contract through 2024, per source. Albert O was scheduled to become a free agent next month.

Okwuegbunam may not be a major part of Philly’s offensive attack, but he does provide depth for them.
He appeared in just four games this season and didn’t record a single catch, but he did show a bit of promise two years ago with 33 receptions for 330 yards and two touchdowns as a member of the Denver Broncos.
He was originally a fourth-round draft selection by the Broncos in 2020 after playing three seasons at the University of Missouri.
The Eagles have some decisions to make, especially on defense, where they will have to decide whether to give contract extensions to Haason Reddick and Josh Sweat, both of whom have been major parts of their front seven.
Some also feel they could move on from cornerback James Bradberry, who is 30 and could be in slow decline.
In addition, Philly has to see if perennial Pro Bowl center Jason Kelce will return for a 14th season this fall.
