The Houston Astros are going back to the World Series for the fourth time in the last six years.
It’s their fifth overall appearance in the World Series and they will match up with the red-hot Philadelphia Phillies beginning on Friday night at Minute Maid Park.
The Astros are undefeated this postseason, having swept the Seattle Mariners in the ALDS and swept the New York Yankees in the ALCS.
As the Astros celebrated their pennant-clinching victory in the visitors clubhouse at Yankee Stadium, Dusty Baker commented on taking his team back to the World Series for the second consecutive year, praising the fans for sticking by the team and going as far as to say that he had never seen a city and team have such a close bond.
Dusty Baker on #Astros’ return to World Series: ‘There's a ton of positive thoughts and spiritual togetherness in the city of Houston. It's galvanized our team. I've never seen a city so close to the players and always behind their players.’’

Baker Comments On Astros’ Bond With Houston
This is saying a lot for a manager who has had much success over his many years in the game.
Baker seems to really believe that the bond the Astros share with their fans is something special and that there hasn’t been anything quite like it.
The city of Houston is galvanized by their Astros’ success, and it has clearly rubbed off on the players as well.
The Astros managed to overcome two talented ballclubs this postseason and will match up with surging Phillies, who are the first team in baseball history to finish in third place in their division and still reach the World Series.
Game 1 will take place on Friday night at Minute Maid Park and will air on FOX Sports.
