The quarterback position in the NFL is arguably the deepest it’s ever been as several players have taken the league by storm.
Everything starts with Patrick Mahomes, who is aiming to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to their third straight Super Bowl win, though he’ll have competition from teams like the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins.
In the NFC, the San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles all figure to be in the mix to represent the conference in the big game.
Meanwhile. off the field, former star quarterbacks are making their mark in the broadcasting booth as Tom Brady will make his debut this season.
Brady should be able to give valuable insight given his playing experience, and Drew Brees could someday fill a similar role as well.
Brees reportedly is open to another opportunity calling games and recently expressed his confidence in doing the job.
“I think I could be the absolute best at it, if given the opportunity,” Brees said, via Alex Schiffer of Front Office Sports.
Brees previously did some work on network studio shows before calling a playoff game, though his performance in the booth left much to be desired.
Since then, networks haven’t used Brees to call a game, though perhaps that chance will come again in the near future, given his willingness to step back into that role.
Like Brady, Brees has decades of playing experience and potentially could be a great addition to a broadcast crew if given another chance.
