Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks wowed the NBA world this weekend with a mind-blowing buzzer-beater that led his team to an important victory over the Denver Nuggets.
Since then, a lot of people have been talking about how skilled Irving is and where he ranks in the history of the league.
Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors had nothing but the highest praise for Irving.
“There’s actually nothing you can do to stop Kyrie from scoring — you just try to do all you can to make him take a tough shot and live with the results,” Green said on his podcast, according to NBC Sports.
He added, “I saw Damian Lillard tweet, ‘Kyrie Irving is the most skilled player in NBA history,’ and, quite frankly, I’m not sure who can argue against that…The things that Kyrie is capable of are unreal.”

That’s a huge statement from Green, especially because he plays alongside someone who is considered by many to be the greatest shooter and one of the best players of all time: Steph Curry.
In fact, Green touched upon that, saying, “Now, me personally, I may argue Steph Curry.”
So while Green is on his teammate’s side in this debate, he understands why so many people consider Irving to be the best of the best.
Throughout his career, Irving has had many amazing moments like the one on Sunday.
This is why he is not only considered one of the best players alive but also one of the greatest closers in NBA history.
Green and the Warriors know that all too well, as they still remember the hugely consequential three-pointer that Irving scored in the closing seconds of Game 7 of the 2016 Finals, winning the game and the series for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
