The 2023 NFL regular season had so much promise for the New York Jets, with the storied franchise having the opportunity to capitalize on acquiring superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a blockbuster deal with the Green Bay Packers.
Rodgers was thought to be the missing piece to the championship puzzle for the Jets, as he was still considered to be one of the best quarterbacks in the league and exactly what New York would need to take their team to the next level in the AFC.
Unfortunately, all expectations for the Jets came crashing down in Week 1 against the division-rival Buffalo Bills, with the Jets unable to protect Rodgers, resulting in a season-ending Achilles injury for the four-time NFL MVP.
Although it was a devastating blow for the Jets, Rodgers made it clear he was not going to retire and was fully intent on returning to New York for another season, which means the team needs to figure out a way to protect their superstar quarterback moving forward.
That said, upgrading the offensive line will likely be a priority for the Jets heading into the NFL offseason, and it appears offensive tackle Amarius Mims, out of the University of Georgia, is a Rodgers fan and would love to play with him, via Jets Videos.
“Aaron Rodgers is a guy I grew up watching…I would love that,” Mims said.

In order to capitalize on this potential championship window, the Jets must make the right moves this NFL offseason to upgrade the roster and put the right pieces in place to give Rodgers a chance to lead this franchise back to the Super Bowl.
It’ll be interesting to see what moves are made this offseason and whether the Jets can bounce back after another disappointing season.
