Roster cut day in the NFL is always a tough time for teams across the league.
For some players, this is their last attempt at joining an NFL roster and getting cut is the beginning to the end.
Other players are cut, but given an opportunity for another team, perhaps joining a practice squad.
Either way, teams don’t like cutting players, but it’s a necessary part of the game.
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson recently found this out the hard way.
According to Bleacher Report, Pederson cut his son, Josh, from the roster.

Josh Pederson, a tight end, has spent time with four different NFL teams, all on practice squads.
He also spent one season with the Houston Gamblers, one of the USFL organizations.
Despite having a great rapport with his father, he was ultimately cut from the Jaguars.
It was undoubtedly a difficult decision for the head coach, who was looking out for the betterment of the roster.
The Jaguars ended up with four tight ends on the roster, but Pederson was unable to establish himself as a top option.
Evan Engram was recently signed to a three-year contract, making the Jaguars’ intentions clear.
They want Engram to be a focal point of this offense, as his pass-catching abilities are among the best at the position.
This left three spots for blocking tight ends, something Pederson apparently wasn’t elite at.
He is now in search of another team, hoping to join a practice squad at the very least.
