In Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered his third concussion since being selected by the team with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
This latest concussion was severe enough to keep him off the field for a considerable amount of time, as he missed four games, with the season essentially derailing for the Dolphins as a result.
Despite a lot of concern for his long-term health and many media members debating whether Tagovailoa should call it a career before doing more damage to his brain, the Dolphins star chose to return to the field.
Unfortunately, the Dolphins have been unable to get a win with Tagovailoa back in the fold, despite coming close against the Buffalo Bills in Week 9.
Tagovailoa looked to be returning to form against the Bills, but that didn’t stop Domonique Foxworth from saying that Buffalo’s defensive players may have gone easy on the Dolphins star.
The former NFL defensive back further explained those comments recently.
“It was just watching the game, and it popped into my head when I saw it on that fourth down and also when I saw it on one of the pass-rush attempts. It wasn’t like a completely prevalent thing, but it looked odd to me,” he said on “The Dan Patrick Show.”

If the Bills were worried about re-injuring Tagovailoa, that’s not a good sign, as it will become a hot topic of discussion and may impact the competitiveness of games moving forward.
It remains to be seen how things go with Tagovailoa the rest of this season and beyond, and what another head injury might mean for him and the Dolphins.
