The Miami Dolphins are one of four teams that will start their offseason workouts today for the 2022 NFL season.

They got the incentive of starting early because of hiring a new head coach in Mike McDaniel.

McDaniel was a vital part of the San Francisco 49ers’ run to last season’s NFC Championship Game.

As offensive coordinator, he was mainly responsible for the team’s run game, which gave them much success.

His system allowed Deebo Samuel to thrive as a potent option at running back or wide receiver.

Elijah Mitchell also showed flashes of brilliance in 2021.

McDaniel hopes to bring that success and philosophy to the Dolphins.

However, his plan will not materialize if their players are not in shape.

The Dolphins will have a two-week head start in workouts compared to teams that retained their coaches from last season.

That’s why long snapper Blake Ferguson is excited to report for the start of their grind.

Ferguson said, “Back to school. Day one. Backpack, here we go.”

An Exciting Season Ahead For The Dolphins

Aside from hiring McDaniel, the Dolphins revamped their roster in hopes of competing against the division-rival New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills.

On offense, they brought in Terron Armstead and Connor Williams to beef up their protection around quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Tagovailoa will also have an assortment of options around him, like newly-acquired running backs Raheem Mostert and Chase Edmonds.

Miami also acquired up-and-coming wideout Cedrick Wilson from the Dallas Cowboys.

But their biggest move of all was the trade for All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

The Dolphins surrendered five draft picks for the Super Bowl LIV champion.

With him, Wilson, and Jaylen Waddle around, Tagovailoa has no excuse to not deliver the goods.

Therefore, the Dolphins hope for a postseason return after a five-year drought.
