The Miami Dolphins are outside the playoff picture in the AFC at 6-8.
However, that has not stopped the organization from caring about its players, especially its future Hall of Fame players.
According to insider Barry Jackson, the Dolphins will potentially consider releasing veteran defensive tackle Calais Campbell if they are eliminated from playoff contention.
That would allow him to join a Super Bowl contender and try to win a ring.
This would be nice: The #Dolphins could potentially release Calais Campbell once they are eliminated from the playoffs to give him the chance of joining a contender, per @flasportsbuzz

Campbell has had one of the best careers for a defensive tackle from this era.
The six-time Pro Bowler and member of the 2010s All-Decade Team has been a force since being drafted out of Miami in 2008.
Campbell, now 38, has recorded 109.5 sacks, 263 quarterback hits, and 185 tackles for loss in 17 years.
He has played for five different teams and has still found a way to produce at each of his stops.
Now, he might be headed to a new team at some point soon and could have a chance to produce in the postseason at least one more time.
Campbell eclipsed 10 tackles for loss for the 12th time in his career this season with the Dolphins.
This proves that his motor skills are still very good, and perhaps he could keep playing in the right situation next season.
But as the regular season winds down, Campbell could soon have a choice of where to go.
Teams like the Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills, and Kansas City Chiefs might want his services, but only Campbell knows what his future holds.
