Cornerback Jalen Ramsey, a key player on the Miami Dolphins’ defense, might soon find himself playing elsewhere.
Ramsey and the Dolphins reportedly are exploring trade scenarios as the 2025 NFL season approaches.
With the 2025 NFL Draft looming, the timing adds significance to these developments.
ESPN has confirmed that the Dolphins will be moving on from the three-time All-Pro.
“Breaking: The Dolphins and DB Jalen Ramsey intend to part ways. GM Chris Brier said that when it comes to Ramsey’s future with the team: ‘We decided it was probably in the best interest for all parties to move forward [separately],'” ESPN wrote on X.

Last offseason, Ramsey signed a contract extension with the Dolphins worth $72.3 million over three years, making him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL.
However, his 2024 season fell short of expectations and he missed the Pro Bowl for the first time since 2019.
Ramsey’s contract has become a sticking point for Miami’s salary cap management and his money due for 2025 presents a significant challenge.
The Dolphins already have paid a roster bonus, meaning any trade partner would need to take on his remaining salary next season.
The Dolphins likely are actively working the phones, hoping to use Ramsey to acquire draft capital.
Several teams have emerged as potential landing spots for Ramsey, with the Las Vegas Raiders looking to be frontrunners given their need for cornerback help.
Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings, Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills reportedly are monitoring the situation, each with their own defensive backfield needs to address.
