The Philadelphia 76ers maxed out under Doc Rivers.
It became evident that he wasn’t the right guy to get them over the hump, with some even thinking he shouldn’t have come back for this season.
However, it seems like it won’t be long before the former NBA champion coach gets another shot in the league, as Joe Vardon of The Athletic, via NBACentral, recently reported he’s a “sleeper candidate” for the Milwaukee Bucks’ coaching job.

Rivers has become somewhat infamous among NBA fans as of late.
He’s got a long and well-documented history of playoff collapses, blown leads, questionable rotations, and calling his players out in public.
The Bucks just fired Mike Budenholzer, whom they won a championship with just a couple of years ago, so it seems like this could be a bit of a step in the wrong direction.
Moreover, this could be a key offseason for Milwaukee, as they still need to figure out what to do with Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez, both of whom are expected to demand a big payday and aren’t getting any younger.
Every minor decision they make could eventually have an impact on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future with the organization, and Rivers has a long history of underperforming in the postseason, so his hiring could be a reason for concern among the fans.
Then again, it’s not like there are that many options for hire right now, and Rivers does come with some degree of pedigree after winning that ring with the Boston Celtics 15 years ago.
