Ben Simmons was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Brooklyn Nets and left behind a whole word of controversy in Philly.
Prior to the trade, he had not stepped on the court all season long, and it looks as if he will not be on the court when the Nets take on the Sixers on Thursday night in Philadelphia.
In fact, there’s a growing expectation that Simmons will not even enter Wells Fargo Center on Thursday.
Sixers coach Doc Rivers had the perfect response when somebody asked him how fans will react if Simmons does in fact enter the arena.
“Our fans are so silent. I can’t imagine anything will happen” 😂

Well-Timed
This was a pretty well-timed joke by Rivers and is the perfect response to the question he was asked.
Simmons created quite a stir in Philadelphia when he decided he did not want to play for them anymore.
So much drama was involved in his decision to not even step on the court for the Sixers.
But it’s nice to see Rivers having a little fun with it now.
As the Sixers’ head coach, he probably felt the weight of Simmons’ antics more than anybody and is likely relieved to no longer have that problem on his hands.
It’s also funny to hear him say that the fans are “silent.”
Obviously, this is a joke, because if Simmons were to enter the arena, the Sixers fans would certainly give him an ear full.
But it’s nice to see Rivers taking it in stride and brushing it off, because at this point, for him, Simmons is a non-issue and is no longer his problem.
It remains to be seen if Simmons will enter the arena and how fans will react, but if he shows up, you can bet that Sixers fans will be all over him.
