Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki had quite the weekend and he is taking a moment to soak it in.
On Saturday night, Nowitzki was officially inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame, joining other iconic heroes of the game in a star-studded ceremony.
Nowitzki was one of the biggest names of the night and his place in the Hall was well-earned and expected for years now.
On Monday morning, Nowitzki posted a picture of himself wearing his new Hall of Fame jacket and ring.
“What an unforgettable weekend! So humbled to be a part of the Hall of Fame class of 2023!” Nowitzki said on Twitter.

Multiple stars from Nowitzki’s era were admitted into the Hall over the weekend, including Pau Gasol and Tony Parker.
His induction caps off an amazing career.
He joined the league back in 1998 as the ninth overall pick in the draft.
When he was selected, not many people knew what he was capable of or what he would achieve.
He came into the NBA during a time when big men like himself played much more traditional roles within a team.
The league wasn’t used to a power forward or center who could pass or make shots from the perimeter.
Very quickly after he joined the Mavericks, Nowitzki showed how he wasn’t like anyone else in the NBA at the time.
Eventually, his special set of skills would lead to 14 All-Star selections, an MVP trophy, and of course a championship win in 2011.
He didn’t just change the Mavericks, but he changed the rest of the league.
Because of that, he is now part of a very prestigious and rare group of players in the Hall of Fame.
