The Carolina Panthers have a new WR1.
With the Pittsburgh Steelers trading Diontae Johnson, he’s ready to take the next step in his career.
Notably, it seems like that’s just what he wanted, at least, judging by his most recent post on social media.
The former Steelers star took to Twitter to talk about his newly-found inner peace, perhaps throwing a little dart at his former team.

The Steelers took Johnson in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and he was expected to be Antonio Brown’s successor.
He had a similar body type to Brown, and he showed glimpses of the same ability to run routes.
Johnson burst onto the scene with a great season in 2021, earning his first and only Pro Bowl selection.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to keep that same level of production in the next couple of seasons.
Then again, that’s not much of a surprise, given how much the Steelers’ offense struggled under former offensive coordinator Matt Canada and how inefficient Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph were.
Johnson failed to score a touchdown in the 2022 campaign, and he’s coming off a modest campaign with 51 receptions for 717 yards and five scores across 13 games.
Perhaps, all he needed was a breath of fresh air, and he’ll get just that under offensive-minded coach Dave Canales.
Hopefully, he’ll also benefit from better QB play in Bryce Young’s second season in the league.
