The Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies seem to be developing a nasty rivalry, and it continued on Thursday when the two teams met at FedExForum.
Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks and Warriors forward Draymond Green have had a lot to do with the bad blood between the teams, especially lately.
Thursday was no exception.
Following a testy contest that ended with the Grizzlies easily beating the Warriors, Brooks made some waves by claiming that he’s simply a better player than Green.
No surprise, but Dillon Brooks has plenty to say about Draymond Green. Including: “I know I’m a better player than him.” https://t.co/75ffpcZI1X

Green and Brooks are a couple of players whose impacts aren’t always measurable in the box score, but they both had solid games statistically on Thursday.
Green finished with 16 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.
Brooks, meanwhile, had 14 points, four rebounds, and six assists, though he didn’t have a very efficient night shooting the ball (6-for-15 from the field).
Regardless of efficiency, the 27-year-old certainly got the last laugh in Thursday’s contest considering the fact that Memphis came out on top.
That hasn’t always been the case in the young rivalry between the Warriors and Grizzlies.
In last season’s playoffs, Golden State knocked out Memphis in the second round before eventually claiming the NBA title.
But to the Grizzlies’ credit, they definitely left their mark on the Warriors the season before, eliminating Golden State in the 2021 play-in tournament.
As far as resumes go, Green undeniably has Brooks beat, as the Warriors veteran is a four-time champ with all sorts of individual accolades.
Brooks hasn’t won a title or earned any major accolades in the NBA.
But some fans may find his overall production and style of play to be more impressive than Green’s, which makes his recent claim interesting to consider.
At the end of the day, Green and Brooks are actually very similar players in some ways, but that’s probably not something they want to hear.
