The Arizona Diamondbacks were able to pull something off in the NLDS that no one saw coming.
Facing the Los Angeles Dodgers, the D-Backs were massive underdogs to win the series.
Not only did they win, they swept the Dodgers.
The MLB playoffs have shown us that regular-season performance does not matter.
The Dodgers finished the regular season 16 games ahead of the Diamondbacks.
Yet, all it took were three playoff games for the D-Backs to end the Dodgers’ season.
The Diamondbacks’ Twitter account went out of their way to troll the Dodgers after sending them home, telling them: “We’ll see you next season.”
We’ll see you next season, @Dodgers. 🤝 https://t.co/XD0a9NXNE7

The new playoff format seems to be favoring the teams who play in the Wild Card round.
The Dodgers and Braves both had first-round byes in the NL.
LA is already out and the Braves are on the brink of elimination trailing 2-1.
Last season, the Phillies went from the Wild Card to the World Series.
Now it is setting up to be a D-Backs, Phillies NLCS where another Wild Card team will represent the NL.
Arizona had to fight their way into the playoffs over the final week of the season.
They have been playing “must-win” games for almost a month now.
It will be very interesting to see if the D-Backs can keep it rolling in the NLCS.
If they do take on the Phillies, it will be a battle of two of the hottest teams in baseball.
Playoff baseball is not like many other sports, it is all about momentum and which team can best channel it.
