Lucas Giolito is one of the most coveted starting pitchers as the trade deadline approaches.
The Chicago White Sox are well out of contention for a postseason spot and are actively shopping some of their pitchers.
Giolito is one of them.
But with the deadline in less than two weeks, moves will soon be made to address contending teams’ biggest needs.
According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the Arizona Diamondbacks are a team that may potentially be looking at acquiring Giolito before August 1.
Morosi noted that like the Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona has inquired about the White Sox veteran right-hander.
The Dodgers aren’t the only NL West team pursuing White Sox starter Lucas Giolito.
Sources say the DBacks have inquired about Giolito, as well. @MLBNetwork @MLB

Arizona already has Zac Gallen at the top of its rotation.
Merrill Kelly is on the injured list but should return soon.
Giolito would give Arizona a second ace-type pitcher who can give them innings and record strikeouts on a frequent basis.
Arizona is currently tied with the San Francisco Giants for second place in the National League West behind the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The D-Backs have been a surprise contender, as not much was expected out of them early in the season.
But Giolito would help give them a truly dangerous starting rotation.
A one-two punch of Gallen and Giolito would be tough to face in October.
In his 20 starts this season, the 29-year-old is 6-6 and owns a 3.96 ERA.
He has also struck out 122 batters and pitched 116 innings.
The deadline is August 1, and it’s very likely that Giolito will find himself in a new uniform before it passes.
