For a number of reasons, Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns wishes he could forget last season.
His team was in bad shape, there was turmoil about the roster, and he wasn’t at his best.
In a new piece for Bleacher Report, Mo Dakhil predicted 2025-26 will be a turnaround for the Suns star.
“Devin Booker had one of his worst seasons in several years. Booker is too talented and too young for this to be the beginning of the end for him. This season, he should return to All-Star form. Why the bounce-back year for Booker? For starters, Beal and Durant are no longer on the roster. He will not have to worry about getting them opportunities. He will be the focal point of the offense under new head coach Jordan Ott. Let Booker be Booker,” Dakhil wrote.
Usually, losing players like Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal is a bad thing, but it might be a wonderful development for Booker.
He will once again be the centerpiece of Phoenix’s offensive plans, which will lead to more ball-handling and might also result in an uptick in his stats.
However, even if Booker is doing better, it doesn’t mean the Suns will succeed.
The Western Conference is tougher than ever, and the recent changes in Phoenix may not lead to immediate victories.
Suns fans were excited for Durant and Beal, but they are now glad that chapter is behind them.
Brighter days may be ahead, even if they don’t arrive overnight, and Booker will be leading the way.
