With the 2024 NFL Draft only two months away on April 25, the speculation and rumors have already begun to run rampant, with everyone wondering what the Chicago Bears have planned for quarterback Justin Fields and the No. 1 overall pick.
Last year, the Bears decided to hold onto Fields as he had shown a lot of promise in an otherwise very disappointing season that resulted in three wins.
After the 2023 campaign, even though the team improved its win total by four, Fields didn’t seem to drastically improve in any way, shape, or form, which is why the team might be leaning toward trading him and taking a quarterback at No. 1.
Although the Bears have yet to make their intentions known, all signs seem to be pointing to the Fields playing for another team and Chicago bringing in USC superstar Caleb Williams.
According to Albert Breer of NBC Sports Boston, the Bears will reveal what they intend to do with Fields next week, via Dov Kleiman.
The #Bears plan in regards to QB Justin Fields should be revealed next week, per @AlbertBreer
“I think the bones of a trade will be set next week. There’s some urgency on the #Bears part to get something done.”
What will the trade be? 🤔

With plenty of teams around the league looking for an upgrade at the quarterback position, the Bears likely will have no shortage of trade suitors, which may make the process that much quicker and easier to put together.
At this point in time, it is unclear what team or teams might be going after Fields, but that’s likely what the team’s brass is currently going through before making a decision on whether it is worth it to make a deal.
However, Williams is such a promising talent that it seems inevitable a trade will be made.
