After trading superstar guard Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns and acquiring Jordan Poole from the Golden State Warriors ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season, the Washington Wizards were thought to be a team that might be able to make something happen.
The pairing of Kyle Kuzma and Poole was thought to be something that could propel this Wizards team back into the NBA playoffs in a wide-open Eastern Conference, but instead, it turned out to be a bad mix.
Only the Detroit Pistons finished with a worse record in the NBA during the 2023-24 regular season, as the Wizards ended up only winning 15 games and limping to the finish line with a bleak future ahead in the nation’s capital.
In the aftermath of one of the franchise’s worst seasons in recent memory, the Wizards could be very active during the NBA offseason, as they will almost certainly look to shake up the roster, starting with Kuzma.
According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, the Wizards could be looking for multiple first-round draft picks in exchange for the veteran forward, via Legion Hoops.

Kuzma has been mentioned in trade rumors since he landed with the Wizards, and there was speculation that he could choose not to re-sign with the team in NBA free agency.
However, he did re-sign with the Wizards, and now it appears he could be traded elsewhere over the summer if a team is willing to send some substantial draft capital back to Washington.
In 70 games last season, Kuzma averaged 22.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game, shooting 46.3% from the floor and 33.6% from beyond the arc.
