However, David Aldridge has uncovered what the Heat desire, via NBACentral, and he suggests Miami will be driving a hard bargain.
Writing for The Athletic, Aldridge stated:
“So if moving Butler brings back players that give Miami more of a shot, the Heat will engage. That likely means taking back players, rather than a deal featuring a bunch of future picks. Riles doesn’t do rebuilds. (Plus, he’s going to be 80 in March.)”

So, it seems clear that the Heat want win-now talent in exchange for Butler, and the idea of a rebuilding process via draft picks isn’t appealing to them.
That definitely raises the standard for any potential offerings from teams, and it also limits the number of front offices that can actually compete to sign Butler.
