The Chicago Bulls’ decision to trade Alex Caruso was met with mixed reviews.
On the one hand, the Bulls’ rebuild is long overdue.
On the other, it seemed like they could’ve gotten more in return.
Josh Giddey has shown flashes of great play, but his value has been trending down lately, as he didn’t seem to be a good fit next to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Moreover, his lack of scoring prowess and an outside shot have also taken a toll on his value.
Even so, the Australian playmaker is reportedly looking to get paid in his upcoming deal.
According to a report by Jake Fischer, Giddey is looking to get around $30 million a year in his new contract (via NBA Central).
Josh Giddey is reportedly seeking $30 million per year on his next deal, per @JakeLFischer

Apparently, Immanuel Quickley’s five-year, $175 million contract extension has set the bar for young guards, and Giddey wants to ride the wave.
The Bulls, however, want to take a look at Giddey and how he performs and fits with his team before making that kind of financial commitment.
Giddey is a former lottery pick with a high upside, and the Bulls have lacked a traditional point guard for years now.
Lonzo Ball is trending back to full strength, but he’s going to be on a minutes restriction and injuries will always be a major concern with him, so it would be in their best interests to keep an insurance policy around.
Also, with him set to become a restricted free agent, they could simply match any potential offer he gets.
