For weeks, there has been a lot of speculation and many rumors about Jonathan Kuminga and the Golden State Warriors.
No one is quite sure what’s next for the two parties, and there is a good chance they will split apart.
But according to Kuminga’s agent, Aaron Turner, the Warriors star would be “open-minded” to remaining in Golden State, but he wants a bigger role with the team.
“The Warriors are the organization that drafted him, so of course he’d love to stay with one team his whole career. He wants to be a focal point of a team. He wants a bigger role. That’s not really a secret. Is he open to coming back? He’s digested it, and he’s open-minded to it,” via Jonathan Kuminga’s agent, Aaron Turner.

Kuminga wishes to be a “focal” point for the Warriors, but he may not be able to do that.
The last few years have proven that Golden State doesn’t value Kuminga and see him as the potential All-Star he believes he is.
Unless they have a major change of heart, they probably won’t allow him the sort of minutes and responsibilities that he desires.
But maybe their view of Kuminga has changed during this recent negotiation process, and perhaps there is a way for everyone to get what they want.
There are already multiple big names in the lineup, but Kuminga wants to be one of them, and he feels he’s at a turning point in his career, ready to show his next level of growth.
This message from his agent might be an attempt to soften the situation and move things along.
Training camp is so close, and the drama continues, but an end could be in sight.
