Bennedict Mathurin of the Indiana Pacers is about to start the final season of his contract, worth a little over $9 million.
But what comes after that for the 23-year-old player?
According to Jake Fischer, Mathurin is aiming for about $20 to $30 million annually in any extension talks with the Pacers.
If Indiana won’t give that to him, will he find it somewhere else in the league?

Mathurin wants more money from the Pacers in any kind of extension, and he believes he is worth every single penny.
In the months ahead, he will be able to prove that he’s right.
According to recent reports, Mathurin will be a starter in the new season because the Pacers will be without Tyrese Haliburton.
They are being forced to make some lineup adjustments, and Mathurin will benefit from that.
That will grant him plenty of opportunities to shine brightly and show what he is capable of, and what he is worth.
That means he could earn the $20 to $30 million annual salary that he desires.
But if the Pacers still don’t budge and work hard to avoid luxury taxes, they might not offer him that coveted contract, and Mathurin would be forced to look at other teams.
That means by this time next year, he could be playing in a different jersey.
Mathurin is going to work hard this season, and last year’s average of 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds proves that he could do a lot for the Pacers.
People will be paying close attention because the 2025-26 season will dictate just how much Mathurin makes, and who he plays for, in the years that follow.
