Desmond Bane is still adjusting to his new home with the Orlando Magic.
He hasn’t even been with the team for more than a few weeks, but Bane already believes he’s the right person for the job.
Speaking with Zach Lowe, per The Ringer, Bane said that there isn’t a much better fit for Orlando.
“I don’t think there could’ve been a much better fit. I think it fits like a glove. My skill set is something that I think that can really help take some pressure off of Franz [Wagner], Paolo [Banchero], [Jalen] Suggs, and all the guys. I’m excited to get to work and go make something happen in the east,” Bane said.

Bane is saying exactly what many Orlando fans and the team’s front office believe.
They think that he could immediately and successfully fit into the Magic’s plans.
Last season, he averaged 19.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.3 assists on 48.4 percent from the field and 39.2 percent from the three-point line.
That sounds great to the Magic, because they had a lot of offensive trouble last season, and they need someone who can shoot well, pass the ball, and play with efficiency.
Of course, there are concerns, too, especially because Orlando gave up a lot to get Bane.
If this doesn’t pan out, it’ll be awfully embarrassing and will set the Magic back for years.
Bane has now surely spent some time with his teammates, which means he is already building chemistry and fitting into the team’s culture.
He thinks the Magic have something special and cannot wait to show it off in a few months when 2025-26 begins.
