After a better-than-expected outcome to the 2023 NFL season, following the injuries to quarterback Deshaun Watson and superstar running back Nick Chubb, the Cleveland Browns headed into the 2024 campaign with high hopes of becoming a legitimate Super Bowl title contender in the AFC.
The Browns were able to get Watson back healthy and were highly regarded as one of the best defenses in the league, with reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett leading the way.
Cleveland, however, would face a tough challenge right out of the gate by hosting the Dallas Cowboys at Huntington Bank Stadium on Sunday, which would be somewhat of a measuring-stick game.
Unfortunately, the Browns weren’t up to the task of taking down Dak Prescott and company, as they were outplayed from start to finish, with Watson doing little to prove that he’s the right man for the job to lead this talented team under center this season.
As if getting blown out by the Cowboys in Cleveland wasn’t bad enough, with Watson playing poorly, things got worse on Monday with the star quarterback getting sued again with an accusation of sexual assault and battery while on a date in 2020, according to Pro Football Talk.

This is not how the Browns want to start the season, with the team getting crushed by the Cowboys, showing that they might not be able to contend with the best of the best in this league this year and Watson’s off-the-field issues becoming a problem again.
Only time will tell how things will pan out for Watson, but things don’t look good moving forward, both on the field and off the gridiron.
