The Cleveland Browns don’t want to be the odd man out in the highly-competitive AFC North.
They cannot afford to stay put while their division rivals are stacked with talent.
Defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, and Cincinnati Bengals would be difficult if they did not become aggressive this offseason.
For that reason, the Browns acquired Amari Cooper from the Dallas Cowboys.
They also got Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson and gave him a five-year, $230 million fully guaranteed deal.
Only time can tell if these signings will bear fruit for the Browns.
But before the season starts, Watson is already taking charge on offense.
I'm told #Browns QB Deshaun Watson is treating the offense to the Bahamas this weekend. The trip is for team-building and football chemistry as Watson has also secured a field there to continue offseason workouts.

CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson tweeted, “I’m told #Browns QB Deshaun Watson is treating the offense to the Bahamas this weekend. The trip is for team-building and football chemistry as Watson has also secured a field there to continue offseason workouts.”
That’s a workout that doesn’t come cheap because Watson will likely be paying for flights, food, and lodging.
Buf if he’s receiving an average of $46 million annually, the cost of the entire trip is a small fraction of his football income.
Will The Bahamas Trip Work?
On one end, the relaxed atmosphere will help them feel loose while training or working out.
This working vacation is also Watson’s way of ingratiating himself to the squad.
He can also learn the offense from Browns veterans and dial up audibles with his receivers.
However, you can’t help but ponder if they can concentrate on their workout.
After all, they are at a tourist destination which offers limitless distractions.
Still, it’s Watson’s responsibility to keep everyone in line if they want the workouts to bear fruit.
