Derrick Rose has been back with the New York Knicks for more than a year and it’s been an odd couple of seasons.
The first, 2020-21, was quite good for New York, with the team ending as the fourth seed in the East.
Last season, 2021-22, was not nearly as impressive as the Knicks didn’t even make the playoffs.
Still, fans have been happy to see Rose back in Madison Square Garden and even though he’s now 33, they are expecting great things from him.
“I haven’t felt this healthy in a long time. Back to my rookie weight. 195 right now. It’s been what, 13 years since I’ve been that weight”

He is expecting great things from himself as well.
Rose posted a positive update from the gym as the offseason winds down.
“I haven’t felt this healthy in a long time. Back to my rookie weight. 195 right now. It’s been what, 13 years since I’ve been that weight,” Rose said.
If he is anything like the rookie player he was, the Knicks are in for something truly special.
The Return Of Rose
Rose got his start in the NBA with the Chicago Bulls and got off to a wonderful start, scoring 16.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 6.3 assists a game.
That was more than enough for Rose to earn the Rookie of the Year Award in 2009.
Since then, Rose has had some incredible seasons and some so-so ones as well.
He was a true talent for the Bulls but he started to experience injuries that would continue to bother him for the rest of his career.
He moved around to the Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons, then finally back to New York.
The crowds in the Big Apple always liked Rose and they welcomed his return
He averaged 12 points last season and, again, missed a lot of games due to injury.
But he says he’s now healthier than ever before.
