The New Orleans Saints haven’t been the team they hoped to be at this point in the season.
Their defense was already solid, and they had some nice playmakers on the offensive side of the field, with Michael Thomas, Chris Olave, and Alvin Kamara, plus Taysom Hill’s versatility as a Swiss Army knife kind of player.
Derek Carr’s addition was supposed to take the team forward offensively, or at least make them more efficient in the passing game.
It’s been seven games already, and he hasn’t shown any signs of improvement, even regressing from his days with the Las Vegas Raiders.
On top of that, frustration has been evident for the Fresno State product, which is why he recently admitted that he needs to ‘chill out’ and be more of a calm leader when things aren’t going the Saints’ way (via Clayton Holloway).

Carr struggled to lead his teams into the playoffs, but it was far from his fault.
He always put up big numbers despite never having a lot of talent around him — outside from last season with Davante Adams.
However, he just doesn’t seem comfortable with Pete Carmichael Jr.’s offense, and it feels like it’s been a disservice to the team’s interesting set of weapons.
Of course, not every quarterback can get a hold of an entirely new offense right away, and he might need some more time to make the adjustment.
But this Saints team has been far from impressive and they don’t look like a threat at all right now.
