Today, DeMar DeRozan is known as the most important player for the Chicago Bulls.
But not too long ago, he was a crucial part of the Toronto Raptors.
Although his Raptors were quite good, they fell short of reaching the Finals.
Instead, Toronto claimed a championship the year right after DeRozan left the team.
But he thinks that if he would’ve stuck around up north for a bit longer, he would have been able to get a ring.
“It sucks that we couldn’t see what could’ve happened with me still being there…We would’ve done the same thing,” DeRozan said on Stephen A’s World.

With DeRozan leading the way, the 2017-18 Toronto Raptors ended the year as the top team in the Eastern Conference with a 59-23 record.
Although they had a terrific regular season, they were pushed out of the playoffs in the semifinals, swept by LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers.
The team went through some huge changes in the summer, hiring a new head coach and sending DeRozan away.
Just months later, Kawhi Leonard helped the team win a championship.
DeRozan seems to have no hard feelings about how it all went down, but he still thinks fondly about what could have been.
After spending some time with the San Antonio Spurs, DeRozan bounced up to Chicago, where he has become the centerpiece of that team.
But they had a very maddening 2022-23 and it’s not clear what the future holds for DeRozan.
He is still in pursuit of winning his first ring.
Will he continue his hunt in Chicago or move to another franchise in order to do it?
