Dejounte Murray had big plans for his first season with the New Orleans Pelicans, but it didn’t pan out as expected.
Because of injuries, Murray only played in 31 games and didn’t suit up after the end of January.
Murray has been hard at work recovering from a torn Achilles, and he seems to be doing quite well.
A new video shared by Will Guillory on X features Murray on the practice court, putting up shots and clearly making great progress.
Pelicans fans are very happy to see this because they definitely want to forget about last year.

During his 31 games for the Pelicans in 2024-25, Murray averaged 17.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 7.4 assists on 39.3 percent from the field.
He was only 30 minutes into the season when he experienced his first injury and was then out until November.
After that, he played until January, but then the Achilles injury came and he was out for the rest of the year.
These sorts of injuries are very serious, and some players never get back to 100 percent, but it looks like Murray is definitely on the road to recovery.
At this pace, he should be prepared to play when the new season kicks off in the fall.
The Pelicans will need him and everything he can provide.
They have tweaked their roster and are trying to get better, but they want Murray to be a part of their plans.
He was supposed to be the team’s missing puzzle piece, the final player who could make them one of the best squads in the Western Conference, but he didn’t even get a chance to prove what he could do.
This video promises that Murray will be back soon and is ready to put last season in the rearview mirror.
