The Sacramento Kings hadn’t exactly been successful over the past two decades, owning the league’s longest playoff drought; one that it seemed would never end.
But after 16 long years and upon Mike Brown’s arrival, the young Kings were finally able to put an end to that shameful streak and made it all the way back to the promised land.
Needless to say, that was a huge and very emotional moment for their fan base, as they had been through so much — mostly bad things — during those years.
The fans’ energy was so insane that it even rubbed off on the players, with De’Aaron Fox telling Morgan Ragan that he almost cried when he took the floor for that first playoff game in almost two decades (via ClutchPoints).
“I almost shed a tear… It was nuts. It was like a surreal moment coming out for that first playoff game, the first playoff game in 16 years.”

Golden 1 Center was absolutely rocking for most of the season, and the fans definitely took it up a notch in the postseason.
The Kings had the reigning champions, Golden State Warriors, against the ropes, facing an 0-2 deficit for the very first time in the Steve Kerr era.
They were tough as nails, and the Dubs had to be at their best to come from behind and take that first-round matchup.
The Kings now have some playoff experience and figure to be one of the best teams in the Western Conference for years to come.
And even though it obviously won’t be easy to come out of the Western Conference, this team is only going to get better as their young players enter their prime.
