Few teams have gone through as many changes or have dealt with as much drama as the Las Vegas Raiders over the last few years, with it being a roller coaster ride ever since the storied franchise moved to Sin City.
As if dealing with Jon Gruden’s controversial firing and how the team handled the Derek Carr situation wasn’t bad enough, the Raiders have taken it to another level by not signing star running back Josh Jacobs to a lucrative long-term deal.
Granted, this is happening all across the NFL, with elite running backs not getting paid what they feel they’re worth, with Saquon Barkley and Tony Pollard being the latest examples, along with Jacobs.
Unfortunately, Jacobs’ absence at training camp for the Raiders has proven to be costly in terms of star players like Davante Adams being unhappy about how things are going in Las Vegas.
Adams recently spoke with Bridget Condon and David Shaw of NFL Network about Jacobs and the contract situation with the team’s star back.
"Not having him right now is obviously something that I'm not happy with…he played like the best back in the league last year, which if you ask me he is the best back in the league." Davante Adams on the absence of Josh Jacobs @CoachDavidShaw @nflnetwork #Raiders pic.twitter.com/KGAsFgIinR

Clearly, Adams is frustrated, and understandably so, as nothing has gone right since the superstar wide receiver was traded to the Raiders before last season.
Not only has Adams’ best friend Carr been sent packing and now leading the way for the New Orleans Saints, but the team’s expectations are on the decline, with many anticipating a rough season ahead for the Silver and Black.
It’ll be interesting to see how things unfold in Las Vegas with Jacobs and if the frustration boils over enough that Adams eventually wants to leave the Raiders.
