After the NFL trade deadline had come and gone, the Las Vegas Raiders surprised everyone by not only standing pat at the deadline but also by choosing to fire head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler.
The moves to start cleaning house were surprising, to say the least, as it seemed as though team owner Mark Davis was adamant about sticking with McDaniels as he continued to try to build the Patriot way in Las Vegas.
Davis apparently had seen enough after the team was beaten by the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football, with superstar wide receiver Davante Adams making it clear that he was furious about recording only one catch in the loss to Dan Campbell’s squad.
In the aftermath of the overhaul in Las Vegas, it seems as though it’s all smiles in the locker room for the Raiders, with Adams especially in a joking mood as he showed off his basketball skills while taking a jab at the media.
Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby also seems amped about having Antonio Pierce as the team’s head coach moving forward, per Logan Reever of 8 News Now via Dov Kleiman.

With the Raiders finally moving on from the failed McDaniels experiment, it’ll be interesting to see how this team comes out on Sunday against the lowly New York Giants, who are ironically the team Pierce won two Super Bowls with during his playing career.
With a 3-5 record, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the Raiders can turn things around and make a push for the NFL playoffs.
