Darius Slay has established himself as one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks and was a massive piece of the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl run.
Recently, Slay restructured his contract and is now tied to the team for the next two seasons.
Before joining the Eagles, Slay had spent the first seven years of his career with the Detroit Lions.
During this time, Slay butted heads with Matt Patricia, the team’s head coach from 2018-2020.
While their conflict occurred over three years ago, there might have been unresolved tension, especially when Slay found out the Eagles signed him as a defensive assistant
However, in a recent presser from Slay via Eliot Shorr-Parks and JAKIB Sports, Slay said, “I want them to do what’s best for the organization.”

Whether Slay has truly let this situation go remains to be seen.
His public comments, at least, seem to indicate that he’s okay with Patricia being in the same building as him again.
If he’s able to help the team, Slay might be able to tolerate his presence.
The Eagles had one of the league’s top defenses last season and was a main factor in their deep playoff run.
Can Patricia and his wealth of knowledge help this organization, bringing them back to their success of last season?
Time will tell, especially as Slay and Patricia get re-acclimated with each other, now reunited with a common goal.
The city of Philadelphia is ready for another championship, if this team is up for the tall task.
