Darius Garland of the Cleveland Cavaliers has done a lot during his five seasons in the NBA but still has much to prove.
He is now ready for 2024-25 so he can silence the critics who expect more from him.
“I just want to stay healthy so I can get out there and shut so many people up that turned on me,” Garland said to Chris Fedor, per NBACentral.

Last season, Garland averaged 18.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
He was able to play in just 57 games because of an injury that kept him sidelined for weeks.
For a few years, Garland looked like he could be the future face of the Cavaliers and it seemed as if the front office would build the roster around him.
Then they acquired Donovan Mitchell and Garland became more of a supporting star.
He is a very young and talented player, but some people feel he is overshadowed by Mitchell, and others believe he hasn’t reached his full potential yet.
That is why the new season could be a pivotal one for Garland, as well as the rest of the team.
The Cavaliers are looking to have an even better season than last year and are hoping for far fewer injuries.
They didn’t make a lot of changes to the roster because they feel confident in the players they have, as long as they can stay healthy.
Right now, Garland is in good shape and is definitely driven, dedicated and ready to get started.
