When you see a guy like Dansby Swanson play, you start to realize that he has All-Star potential and is a key piece for the Atlanta Braves as they try to defend their title.
But you don’t always think of him as a guy who could rival Aaron Judge in terms of production.
That has been the case though for him.
He may not have near as many home runs as Judge, but Swanson is no slouch.
He’s hitting .304 with 14 bombs and 49 RBI.
Braves insider Grant McAuley tweeted an interesting fact about Swanson, that he shares a 4.0 fWAR with Judge at the moment.
Dansby Swanson and Aaron Judge have identical 4.0 fWARs. For comparison's sake, Jose Ramirez is at 3.9 and Mike Trout is at 3.7 while fellow NL All-Star hopeful Trea Turner's is 3.2. https://t.co/jQf2C065sA

An Underrated Star
Again, Swanson may not be quite as big of a name as Aaron Judge, but to have the same fWAR as him is impressive, especially with the way he’s been hitting home runs.
Judge already has earned himself a spot in the American League All-Star starting lineup, just as Swanson’s teammate Ronald Acuna Jr. has for the National League.
If Swanson has the same fWAR as Judge, then he has a good chance at ultimately making the All-Star team himself.
Not only does he have the same fWAR as Judge, but his is higher than the likes of Jose Ramirez, Mike Trout, and Trea Turner.
These are some of the big names in Major League Baseball, and Swanson is outperforming them in a key category.
His fWAR is also tied for the fourth-best in baseball and third in the National League.
That’s pretty impressive.
It’s hard to do, but Swanson has been able to do it.
We’ll see if he can keep it up and continue to outperform some of the bigger names.
