After an incredible 2022 NFL season that resulted in a playoff berth and an upset win over the Minnesota Vikings in the postseason, the New York Giants have come back down to earth during the 2023 campaign, as the team hasn’t been able to find that magic that made them so special last year.
As if losing three of their first four games of the season wasn’t bad enough for the Giants, New York hasn’t been able to stay healthy this season, with star running back Saquon Barkley playing in only two games thus far and now quarterback Daniel Jones has suffered an injury in the loss to the Miami Dolphins.
According to Judy Battista of NFL Network, Jones suffered a neck injury on Sunday that resulted in him missing the rest of the game and handing the ball over to Tyrod Taylor.
On the broadcast, they said Daniel Jones has a neck injury and is done for the day.

This is an unfortunate turn of events for Jones, who signed a lucrative contract extension with the team before heading into this season after a decent performance in 2022.
It has been a rough season, to say the least, for Jones as he has not been able to get it going, throwing three times as many interceptions (6) as touchdowns (2) thus far, which obviously isn’t going to get the job done offensively.
The question now is how severe Jones’ injury is moving forward and if it will jeopardize his getting back on the field for the Giants this season.
In the meantime, the Giants will likely continue to turn to Taylor to shoulder the load for the time being.
