The Los Angeles Lakers have a phenomenal roster for the 2023-24 NBA season.
Two of the biggest decisions made by the Lakers were to re-sign Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura for multiple years.
The two stars have become very popular among the Lakers’ fanbase.
So much so that D’Angelo Russell recently shared his wish to be either of them, even for one day, after seeing an ad featuring Austin Reaves behind a bus.
“If I could be this guy for one day! You or Rui. If I could be one of y’all for one day,” Russell said.
“If I could be this guy for one day! You or Rui [Hachimura]. If I could be one of y'all for one day."

As apparent from the video, Russell saw an advertisement of lemondaddy.com featuring Austin Reaves.
Russell himself is very popular among the Laker Nation, but even he knows and accepts Reaves and Hachimura’s insane popularity.
Reaves gained fame after becoming one of the most reliable players on the roster outside of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, even when the team was struggling last season.
On the other hand, Hachimura recently became the understudy of LeBron James.
Being linked to the King in any way makes a player’s popularity rise.
Reaves averaged 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, on the other hand, Hachimura put up 11.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game for the season.
Reaves was rewarded with a four-year, $53.8 million contract by the Lakers this offseason.
Meanwhile, Rui re-signed to a three-year, $51 million deal with the Purple and Gold.
Considering the new contracts, the Los Angeles Lakers will expect better things from the two stars.
Can they live up to the expectations? Only time will tell.
