The San Francisco 49ers lost to the Los Angeles Rams on “Thursday Night Football” and are now 6-8 and on the brink of playoff elimination.
To add insult to injury, veteran linebacker De’Vondre Campbell was asked to enter the game and decided that he did not want to play.
Host Dan Patrick did not hold back on Campbell for his decision.
“He shouldn’t get a game check for last night. …You quit on your teammates,” Patrick said on “The Dan Patrick Show.”

When your backs are against the wall and your team’s season is on the line, every player, if healthy, needs to be ready to roll.
If they aren’t, why are they in the business?
For Campbell, the former All-Pro could be facing punishment for his decision to abandon his team in its moment of need.
Whether that is a suspension or a release, Campbell is likely going to have a price to pay.
It’s not like the 31-year-old refused to enter a blowout.
He left his team in a close, one-possession game with the fate of their season possibly hanging in the balance.
Now, his NFL career could be in jeopardy as no team is likely to take a chance on a player who deserted his teammates.
Now, the 49ers have to win their final three games and hope for help if they want to make the playoffs.
