The Chicago Bears didn’t hesitate to trade down from the No. 1 pick to maximize their assets and build around Justin Fields.
It’s evident that they fully trust him as their quarterback for the future, and they did an impressive job of surrounding him with the players he needs around him.
That’s why former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky believes Fields will take another massive leap in his third season in the league, going as far as to say that he’ll be an MVP candidate.
"Justin Fields is going to be in the MVP conversation this season."

Orlovsky believes that, unlike what most people think, Fields will be more similar to Josh Allen than Jalen Hurts, and the Bears would take that every single day of the week.
The Bears went from having one of the worst offensive lines in the league to a very solid unit around their quarterback, and that will obviously be key for his development.
Hurts needed way more time than the average NFL QB to operate last season.
Still, it’s hard to blame him when he was rarely operating from a clean pocket, and had little-to-no options to throw the football to.
But with a revamped offensive line and a full season with Chase Claypool, the Bears’ passing game should be much improved, not to mention he’ll have a longer leash after barely throwing the football for the first half of the 2022 season.
Bears fans should have plenty of reasons to look forward to next season, and it’ll now be up to Fields to prove that he can be as good as they expect him to be.
