The Dallas Cowboys may have to take a backseat for now because there’s a new contender for “America’s Team,” at least in the Super Bowl.
Despite a notoriously boisterous fan base and a head coach who often draws criticism, the Philadelphia Eagles have become the beacon of hope for those yearning to see the Kansas City Chiefs stumble.
Even fans who can’t recite a single line of “Fly! Eagles! Fly!” are jumping on the Philadelphia bandwagon.
ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky recently shed light on this shift in fan allegiance against the two-time defending champion Chiefs.
“Fatigue. They’re tired of it. The conspiracy theory of the officiating, and just that they’ve been the focal point and the talking point for three years. I think somebody wants a new champion, but I’m going to choose to just revel in their greatness and appreciate it,” Orlovsky said, via ESPN Radio.

While Orlovsky opts to celebrate the Chiefs’ achievements, many fans have grown weary of the Patrick Mahomes-Travis Kelce show collecting Lombardi Trophies.
Kansas City’s dominance is undeniable. It is pursuing its fourth NFL championship in six seasons and aiming to make history as the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
However, Philadelphia brings formidable credentials to the table. Its roster depth is impressive, and its defense statistically outranks Kansas City’s heralded unit.
Yet the Chiefs hold what many consider the ultimate trump card in Mahomes, a quarterback who consistently delivers when the pressure peaks.
It’s a peculiar twist seeing Philadelphia, with its infamous reputation, become the people’s choice to dethrone Kansas City’s dynasty.
