Throughout the majority of the 2023 NFL regular season, the Dallas Cowboys were considered to be one of the teams to beat in the NFC, with America’s Team firing on all cylinders on both sides of the football.
The Cowboys were playing so well that they were getting a lot of buzz as legitimate Super Bowl title contenders, and it seemed like it might finally be the year that star quarterback Dak Prescott led this team to a title.
Unfortunately, once the NFL playoffs rolled around, it was more of the same from the Cowboys, as the team underestimated the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the postseason and ended up losing on their home field in embarrassing fashion.
In the aftermath of this devastating playoff loss, the consensus around the NFL was the Cowboys might make some drastic moves, with head coach Mike McCarthy and the team’s quarterback in the crosshairs.
That didn’t turn out to be the case, and now the team has done nothing in the offseason to upgrade their roster, which has led to a lot of criticism.
ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky believes the team should’ve fired McCarthy and moved on from Prescott, as he said on “The Dan Patrick Show.”
“I would’ve gotten rid of Mike McCarthy, moved on from Dak,” Orlovsky said. “Tried to get as much value as I can for a good starting QB. Now they’re pigeonholed.”
.@DanOrlovsky7 thinks the #Cowboys should have gone in to full rebuild mode after losing to the Packers in the playoffs.

With the Cowboys basically doing the same thing over and over again and getting the same results in the playoffs, Orlovsky is probably right that this NFL offseason was time for some drastic changes.
However, longtime owner Jerry Jones is a stubborn man and seems to be prepare to live his decision to stick by McCarthy and Prescott moving forward.
