Just about everyone agrees that USC quarterback Caleb Williams will likely be the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
It is a fair assessment, as he threw for 4,537 yards and 42 touchdowns while adding 380 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground last season.
Dan Orlovsky gave Williams quite the endorsement by saying that watching him is almost like watching a combination of Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen, via “First Take” on Monday.

The 2023 college football season is now underway, and on Saturday, Williams tallied 278 passing yards and four passing touchdowns, which included a long strike to Tahj Washington for a touchdown.

He won the Heisman Trophy last season, and barring something catastrophic, he should at least be a contender for the award again later this season.
If Williams will be the real deal in the NFL, as Orlovsky clearly implied, he could instantly change the fortunes of one lucky team.
Many feel the Arizona Cardinals, who are dealing with starting QB Kyler Murray’s torn ACL, are in position to earn the No. 1 pick in the 2024 draft and select Williams.
But there are those who feel the Los Angeles Rams, who are just two years removed from winning the Super Bowl, could be bad enough to end up choosing Williams.
That would allow him to continue playing football in SoCal and get plenty of exposure by being in the nation’s second-largest media market.
There is a long way to go before the draft, and there are things Williams could improve on to improve his chances of success at the next level, but right now, he seems to have a chance at being special.
