Dan Campbell Has Strong Belief About Lions’ Roster

The Detroit Lions are entering this season with a big chip on their shoulders.

They were arguably the best team in the NFC last season, yet they couldn’t win a playoff game.

Then, they didn’t make a lot of moves this offseason.

However, head coach Dan Campbell recently said this is the best and deepest roster they’ve had since he’s been there.

“I feel like collectively, across the board, this looks pretty good. I would say, Year 5: This is the best we’ve felt,” Campbell said.

Those are big words from a team that had one of the most stacked rosters in the NFL last season, but Campbell might be onto something.

The Lions have a plethora of weapons on offense, with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams leading the way at wide receiver, Sam LaPorta at tight end, and a solid one-two running back punch in David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs.

They also have stout offensive and defensive lines, and they’re the type of team that thrives by dominating in the trenches.

Aidan Hutchinson is also back to full strength, and he’s one of the most physically imposing pass rushers in the game.

Then again, it’s not all positive.

The Lions lost both of their coordinators when Ben Johnson (offense) and Aaron Glenn (defense) left for head coaching positions with the Chicago Bears and New York Jets, respectively.

With doubts that quarterback Jared Goff can get the job done when it matters most, the Lions will have to prove themselves all over again this season.
