Damian Lillard demanded a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers earlier this offseason and named the Miami Heat as his preferred destination.
The Lillard trade saga began on July 1 and has since dragged on with no significant updates.
With the Heat already having a star duo of Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, adding Lillard could help them win their first NBA title since 2014.
The goals for the two parties align as Lillard wants a chance to win an NBA Championship before retiring from the league.
Lillard reposted an Instagram story that sent across a suggestive message amid the trade saga, as revealed in a tweet via Legion Hoops.

The Instagram story labeled Lillard a future Heat legend despite currently being a player for the Trail Blazers.
Lillard made his point across and quickly deleted the story from his official Instagram handle.
The 33-year-old has played 11 seasons in the NBA but has never reached the Finals.
Dame evidently wants to change that and become an NBA champion by the end of his stint in the league.
He could become an excellent fit for the Heat and finally help them get over the hump after losing their second NBA Finals in the last four seasons.
As for Lillard, he still has a lot of gas left in his tank, which was proven by his numbers in the 2022-23 NBA season.
The seven-time NBA All-Star averaged 32.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists over 58 games last season.
Will Lillard get his request fulfilled or will he be forced to play another season as a member of the Trail Blazers?
It remains one of the biggest unanswered questions heading into the 2023-24 NBA season.
