The NBA regular season is almost over and, once again, it looks like the Portland Trail Blazers will not have playoff success.
Despite a strong start to the season (they were briefly the top team in the West), the Blazers are now 13th in their conference.
They have almost no chance of making the play-in games.
With the team on the verge of being eliminated from playoff contention this weekend, many people are talking about their leader, Damian Lillard.
People are questioning if he will stick around with the team, why he remains so loyal, and what’s next for him.
And Lillard is speaking out and pushing back.
Talking to Casey Holdahl on his “The Brief Case” show, Lillard criticized the people who continually wonder why he is still with the Blazers.
“They don’t know why we make the decisions we make. They don’t know why we attached to the things we attached to,” Lillard said.
He added, “They just speak from, they speak as far as they understand. And they just don’t understand,” Lillard said.

At this point, Lillard has made comments like his many times before.
That is because, sadly, his team keeps coming up short.
The All-Star guard should be commended for staying true to his team through good times and bad.
But his fans and other analysts have every right to question him, especially with the amount of skill he has.
Lillard has averaged 32.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists this season.
He had one of the best years of his career.
Yet his team still couldn’t get it done.
It feels like it’ll take a gargantuan effort to make them championship-caliber by this time next year.
Therefore, while Lillard deserves praise for never giving up on his team he shouldn’t be surprised that people consistently wonder about his choices.
