The Milwaukee Bucks came out swinging for the fences and landed one of the biggest stars in the game.
Giannis Antetokounmpo wanted the team to show their commitment to winning another NBA championship, and that’s exactly what they did.
Likewise, Damian Lillard will now have the best supporting cast he’s ever had in his career, and it didn’t take long before he felt starstruck because of that.
During the Bucks’ Media Day, the multi-time All-Star admitted that he had never been a part of a picture like that (via Lily Zhao).

He was joined by Giannis, Khris Middleton, and Brook Lopez, so you know he meant it.
Of course, Lillard isn’t anywhere close to Jrue Holiday as a defender, but he’s a much better offensive player.
Khris Middleton is versatile and dynamic on both ends of the floor, but he’s coming off a big injury and never looked comfortable last season, and the Bucks needed someone who could pick up the slack if Giannis wasn’t healthy, just like what happened in the first round of the playoffs.
It’s not usual to see a team that’s fresh off putting up the best record in the league making such a roster-altering move, but a player like Damian Lillard doesn’t become available every day either.
The Bucks are now expected to be the driving force out of the Eastern Conference.
And even though they’ll have a fierce rival in the Boston Celtics — with Jrue Holiday thirsty for revenge — it’s officially championship or bust time in Wisconsin; there’s no more room for excuses.
