The Dallas Mavericks will be looking to get back into the playoff picture after retooling their roster over the offseason.
The Mavericks brought back Kyrie Irving on a three-year deal, while they also agreed to a three-team sign-and-trade that brought them Grant Williams from the Boston Celtics.
Everything still revolves around Luka Doncic who is expected to be ready for the team’s opener against the San Antonio Spurs after hurting his calf in the preseason, but his supporting cast looks much better this time around.
Dallas is facing enormous pressure to win now given that there are murmurings that Doncic could be the next superstar to ask out should the team continue to fall short.
Without many future assets at their disposal, the Mavericks are betting their fortunes on their current group.
One bright spot on the team last season was Josh Green whom the front office just rewarded with a three-year, $41 million deal via Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Green broke out for the Mavericks during the 2022-23 campaign as he turned himself into a solid 3-and-D wing on a nightly basis.
The young forward also showed some improved skills with the ball in his hands, giving him even more offensive versatility next to the two star guards.
Green is a great piece to have for the short-term, though the length and value of his contract also make him an attractive trade piece if the right deal were to ever present itself.
However, the Mavericks are hoping he makes another leap and helps them compete for a title at some point.
