It’s hard to question Dallas Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones‘ success as a businessman.
Under his wing, the team became the most valuable sports franchise with an $8.5 billion price tag.
He has made the squad marketable by being a constant fixture on news cycles.
Unfortunately, their on-field success is on the other end of the spectrum.
Despite having a valuable brand, they failed to defeat the San Francisco 49ers at home during last year’s Wild Card Round.
The Cowboys also haven’t reached the NFC Championship Game since 1995, which coincided with their last Super Bowl victory.
While several factors might have contributed to their recurring failures, Blogging the Boys Managing Editor RJ Ochoa only has two people to blame.
Dak Prescott is getting destroyed.
He can thank Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones for their brilliant team-building and support.

Ochoa tweeted, “Dak Prescott is getting destroyed. He can thank Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones for their brilliant team-building and support.”
Prescott and the Cowboys dropped their season opener versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Aside from putting up just one field goal all game, they also gave Tom Brady a 7-0 career record against them.
Worst yet, Prescott suffered a thumb injury requiring surgery, forcing him to miss six to eight weeks.
Mistakes Made This Offseason
Retaining Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson could have given Prescott more targets to work with.
But even without those wideouts, the Cowboys still have CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup.
Unfortunately, both players were non-factors against Tampa Bay and the latter didn’t even play due to injury.
Likewise, the Cowboys only have two quarterbacks on their active roster: Prescott and Cooper Rush.
With Prescott sidelined, Rush will take over from him even if he only has one career start and ten total games played.
Finally, they have a shallow offensive line rotation, especially after losing Tyron Smith to injury and La’el Collins to free agency.
Prescott would have better protection with Collins on board.
Instead, they have inexperienced players like Tyler Smith, Josh Ball, and Matt Waletzko on rotation.
